if more producers came out and paid $5 - 10 to come support these local shows.. rappers out here would probably pay $100 - 500 a beat..

everybody out here who has to do with the music scene gets gwapped out except for the emcee.. he's the one keeping muthafuckas lights on.. graphics, beats, studio time, etc. etc.

I'm down to hear some samplers though.. no samples in the beats though.. I wanna hear what you can play yourself..

can i play something then sample it? does that fit the criteria? i will make a non sampled song if not. its been a minute since ive done that.

I have heard very few producers drop beats without samples that ive liked coming out of the NW...industry wise, ZO is probably one of the dopest producers ive heard as of late to play the keys to the soulful sound i like to hear. but otherwise i prefer my shit with a little Roy Ayers base, Margie Joseph center topped with some chicago gangsters! lol... let me here that sample...show me your SOUL!

not knocking soul-samples.. just not my type of shit.. and yes, there's a lot of producers out here who can make some dope beats w/o a sample: Tryfe, Amaculan, Young Native, Mo'Bucks, Kuddie Mak.. a lot of producers out here have nothing but sampled beats.. and couldn't play a bassline in the right octave to layer it to save their lives.. I'm tryna hear what you can do without a sample.

Kuddie mak is a beast that's my dude! It takes a lot of time to create something very fresh from scratch!me personally I love samples chopped and polished back up with sounds to create a bigger and deeper emotion of whatever is captured!I think this combo is the best because it gives you both forms!that's me tho!

I think honestly its alot harder to have your beats distinguished between each other when you only play out sounds!I've noticed you don't want to recycle the same sound to much plus your ideas have a Tendency to become the same

That's why I think its best to master both!Plus stock drums are never that tight!!!!I'm not sayin that if you play out sounds you need to chop samples but u should no how to do some kind of sampling! visa versa!

I love sampled beats like no other. I dont even put out non sampled beats, but i do make them some times, and Jay is right you should know how to make shit with out samples. I think some of the producers that simply loop samples is wack. Unless its a loop that screams out to be looped.

I got a ton of shit that is with out samples but I wouldnt really expect anyone I know to bump it or like it. But still sometimes its fun to build a song out of synths and instruments.


Either way I think the best of both worlds should keep at it and mix it up a bit.
